Paul Jaschke

Dr. Paul Jaschke is a Lecturer in the Molecular Sciences Department of Macquarie University and Associate Investigator in the Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology. He completed a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia and an NSERC-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University before joining Macquarie University. While at Stanford, Dr. Jaschke developed novel methods to engineering bacteriophage in yeast and created the first phage with all overlapping genes ‘decompressed’. His lab is now working on a range of topics in synthetic biology, microbiology, and virology including improving phage for therapeutic use against uropathogenic E. coli,_ _and using next-generation CRISPR methods to engineer T4 and T7 phages.
